About the Dolphin House’s Virtual 5k

As you may imagine, with the challenges our communities experience in the wake of the Covid 19 Pandemic, incidents of child abuse are on the rise. In 2023, The Dolphin House has seen over a 40% increase in the number of victims served, unfortunately that trend means the services we provide are even more vital to the communites we serve. We have primarily seen an increase in internet crimes against children. Cases of children witnessing severe violence in their homes along with physical and sexual abuse has also intensified. Help us this April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, to raise awareness and spread the message of Defeating Child Abuse!

Why Virtual?

The Covid 19 Pandemic challenged our creative ability to create a fundraising event that would adhere to state and local restrictions, as in-person events were not possible. To meet that challenge, we created an event that was not only successful as a fundraiser, but also spread the message of defeating child abuse far and wide; runners of the 1st Annual Run to Defeat Child Abuse Virtual 5K registered from as far away as Hawaii and Maryland!

With your support, we will continue to spread the message of preventing and defeating child abuse. Planning for the 3rd Annual Dolphin House Run to Defeat Child Abuse Virtual 5k is underway and we welcome your sponsorship. The deadline for sponsorship is March 1st, 2023, race registration will begin in March and the race will commence on April 1st to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month!

The great thing about a virtual 5k is you can do it anywhere, anytime and with anyone! You can run, skip, walk, row or ride your bike. If that isn’t your thing and you just want to support The Dolphin House Child Advocacy Center; register here to make your donation!

When you receive your swag, put on your shirt; run, skip, walk, row or bike your 5K! If you have a four legged running buddy, don’t forget your doggie bag add on. Each doggie bag comes with a custom bandana and a treat! Don your medal proudly and share a picture on our social media.
