What does it mean to be a Friend of the Dolphin House? In the literal sense, a Friend of the Dolphin House is an individual who commits to making monthly contributions to the organization; these donors are hugely important to the continuing operations of the House.
Jerome Waler was a Friend of the Dolphin House in many ways, including being a committed donor. Mr. Waler also shared his poetic abilities with us, as well as making frequent visits to the house and phone calls to check in on us, to make sure that staff was doing well. Mr. Waler understood the toll that this work takes on the people who do it, and his kindness to staff will not soon be forgotten.
Sadly, Mr. Waler passed away on April 27th. We will miss his sense of humor, kindness, and generous spirit immensely.
