Hello friends of The Dolphin House,
August is quickly approaching, and with it is the excitement of a new school year. For many families, this time of year can also be stressful and financially draining. Unfortunately, our community does not have a program dedicated to directly helping families in need of school supplies. Oftentimes, donated school supplies go directly to the school district. Kids who need these supplies do not have them until after the school year starts, leaving the child and family feeling unprepared.
Our goal is to help our families get prepared for the year before school starts. Our 2nd annual Dolphin House School Supply Drive runs through the remainder of July and will primarily provide supplies to Dolphin House clients. Leftover supplies will be donated to the Montrose, Delta, and Ouray School Districts to help other children in need. Boxes for supply drop offs can be found at The Dolphin House and San Juan Brews.
Here’s how you can help:
- Purchase any supplies from our list below.

- Choose a grade level, go onto the school district website, print off a supply sheet and shop specifically for that child.

- Spread the word about The Dolphin House school supply drive.
- Bonus tip: Shop the clearance racks throughout the year for supplies, backpacks, etc. save them up until the next drive.
