Greetings from The Dolphin House! It is my intention to use this small space to keep our friends updated
on the happenings at the Center. This month, Dolphin House staff and Board members are working on
our annual End of Year Appeal; prior donors to the Dolphin House can expect a letter in the mail within
the coming days. If you are not on our list, please feel free to reach out, we would be more than happy
to include you!
In addition to the End of Year Appeal, the staff has been working with Cobble Creek Golf Community on
its annual Angel Tree project. 50 children, who have been seen at the Dolphin House this year, will be
the grateful recipients of gifts from community members who understand that every child deserves a
merry Christmas, and it would not be possible without the support of the residents of Cobble Creek.
With the New Year fast approaching, we are also in planning mode for our first fundraiser of 2023! The
Run to Defeat Child Abuse Virtual 5K was created in 2020 in response to the restrictions on in-person
fundraisers due to the Covid 19 pandemic; never did we think that it would prove as popular as it did!
Participants from as far away as Hawaii and Maryland proudly donned our signature T-shirt and took to
the road to raise money for our Center. In doing so, they helped to raise awareness of child abuse and
the on-going fight to provide support for those least able to protect themselves. The race this year will
be held in April, as part of our Child Abuse Prevention Month activities. If you, or someone you know,
are participating in the Virtual 5K, information for the event is right at your fingertips, on this website. I
hope you find it useful and informative.
Proceeds from the Virtual 5k go directly to client services, including Forensic Interviews, mental health
services, and support provided by our advocates at the Center. The Dolphin House is fully funded by
grants and contributions, so our fundraisers are vital to the continuation of our work.
